Ghana’s wealth of resources, democratic political system and dynamic economy, makes it undoubtedly one of Africa’s leading light. Gaining the world’s confidence with a peaceful political transition and a grounded and firm commitment to democracy has helped in expediting Ghana’s growth in foreign direct investment (FDI) in recent years and furthermore the ancient Gold Coast is currently one of the main beneficiaries in sub-Saharan Africa. So this country represents a learning ground for students and professionals. First of all living in Ghana is really pleasant and provides a rich life’s experience. Ghanaians are well educated in the way they interact with people and have clean streets. Indeed different waste management companies are in charge of wastes but most of them are just waste collection companies. However with the right mindset on solid waste, incomes can be generated from recovery of useful items while concurrently protecting the environment. For insistence, a company named Safi Sana Ghana Limited, which has been operating for the past 6 years, is currently leading a revolution to address Ghana’s sanitation challenges, and at the same time, producing energy to feed the country’s national grid. Thus Waste management industry may probably lead to interesting business and create more jobs.
Another industry we can’t help talking about is Food industry in Ghana. Ghanaians have plenty nice food that foreign people enjoy. Most of supermarkets sell Ghanaian dishes and are in concurrence with restaurants. So food industry of local dishes is very present and interesting there. Fufu, Omotu and Joloff rice with jerk chicken are examples of Ghanaian dishes. Fufu is made with cassava and green plantain flour, so it becomes a paste we eat with different kind of soup for example light soup. Omotu is fried rice with soup for example groundnut soup. However, as we know that we are in a globalized society, we can find fast food as KFC in some malls.
As transportation means, besides taxis Ghanaians use most of the time what they call trotro. It is a kind of small bus. Taking trotro can be fun and agreeable because you discover new areas on the road. Moreover Ghana is culturally and historically rich. Hence tourist site are very attractive and contribute to the knowledge. Here are some examples and some images : Cape coast castle W.E.B, Dubois center, James Town Lighthouse , Asante Buildings Cathedral church of the most holy trinity, Accra Central Mosque, Kwamé NKrumah memorial park ,Akosombo Hydro Plant ,Academy for African Music and Arts Nzulezo,-The village on Stilts (Beyin).
